About Bruntsfield

Bruntsfield occupies a coveted position on Edinburgh's southside, stretching along the western edge of the Meadows — a vast, flat public park that serves as the neighbourhood's front garden and the social heart of south Edinburgh. The neighbourhood takes its name from Bruntsfield Links, one of the oldest golf courses in the world, which edges into the Meadows and provides an unexpected patch of open greenery. Bruntsfield Place and the adjoining streets form a compact, bustling neighbourhood centre packed with independent cafes, brunch spots, delis, wine bars, and boutique shops. The area has a distinctly youthful energy, drawing postgraduate students from the nearby University of Edinburgh, young professionals priced out of New Town, and couples making their first property purchase. The Meadows — Edinburgh's answer to Central Park — is at its most spectacular during cherry blossom season in April, when the tree-lined Middle Meadow Walk becomes one of the UK's most photographed streets. Bruntsfield's position between the city centre and Morningside gives it excellent connectivity, while its village-scale high street and strong community identity ensure it never feels like a mere thoroughfare.
