Khao Takiab, nicknamed Monkey Mountain after the temple-topped headland that anchors it, is a relaxed beachfront enclave about ten minutes south of central Hua Hin. The long, gently sloping beach, a string of beachfront and near-beach condominiums, and proximity to several golf courses have made it a favourite with retirees, snowbirds and seasonal visitors seeking a quieter base than the town centre. For buyers, Khao Takiab offers beachfront and sea-view condominium living at prices somewhat below the busiest central blocks, with strong holiday-rental appeal. As with all of Thailand, foreign buyers are limited to leasehold land or condo freehold within the 49% quota. Investors should weigh the area's heavy reliance on seasonal tourism, the resort-condo oversupply risk along this coast, and the dependence on the wider Hua Hin amenity base for non-beach needs.
